GLENWOOD SPRINGS GALLERY

(Click to Return to Colorado Landscapes)

The Colorado River runs through Glenwood Canyon and is visible throughout the city, along the highway.  It is close to Rifle Gap State Park and Maroon Bells in Aspen, CO.  These photos are from Hanging Lake, Grizzly Creek hike and the man-made water recreation park.  Doc Holliday, a wild west legend from the O.K. Corral gunfight, spent the final months of his life in Glenwood Springs and is buried in the town's original Pioneer Cemetery above Bennett Avenue. Glenwood has a nice bike trail that runs alonside the Colorado River.  There is lots of hiking, biking, camping and of course the Hot Springs. They have a vibrant downtown area with lots of shopping too.
