These images are from the Victor, CO area. Victor is well known for their historic mining district. There are still many remnants of mines there today and they also have self walking tours that provide additional information on Victor and it's mining industry. There are still many old buildings and structures to see. There is the Lowell Thomas Museum which has a nice collection of antiques and items from its mining history. The blasting powder for mining work was kept in a storage unit called a Powder Magazine. One could spend the better part of a day touring the Victor, CO area and absorbing its' history.
